    The authority of this regulation arises from Act. No. 117 of 1993 on national insurance. It contains provisions regarding work for the disabled. The State Social Security Institution has the authority to make employment contracts with employers in order to provide work for the disabled. The SSSI pays a certain amount of the worker's wages.

    The aim of this Act is to ensure equality and living conditions for disabled persons that are comparable with those of other citizens (choice of residence, employment, access to transport and transport services, etc.). The Minister of Social Affairs is in charge of matters concerning disabled persons.

    Regulation No. 150 of 1992 on financial aid for the providers of handicapped and sick children.

    The regulation states that the providers of handicapped and sick children from the age of 3 months to 16 years have the right to financial aid in special cases. The State Social Security Institute (SSSI) decides on the benefits and the Regulation provides for different cases in which providers can be granted financial aid. The SSSI must decide the length of the period, which cannot exceed three years. If necessary, the SSSI can decide on another period. Benefits can also be granted retroactive to two years. The Municipal Center for the Handicapped shall receive all necessary information from the SSSI.
