    Scope of the law: applies all universities and higher education and research centers covered by the Ministries of Science, Research and Technology, Health and Medical Education, University of Cultural Sciences, Universities and Non-Governmental Institutes of Higher Education and Research.

    The Law defines the methods for acceptance of the students:
    Centralized examination - 50%
    Research records - 20%
    Scientific Interviews and Practical Measurement - (30%)

    The Law defines the requirements for admission of the students to Universities and Centers of Higher Education and sets up a special Assessment and Admission Council composed of representatives from several Ministries and Educational Organizations.

    Entitles employers to request and obtain professional and technical certificates from relevant education authorities regarding applicants from jobseekers. Also contains provisions concerning training and education to improve the educational skills of existing qualified and semi-qualified workers.

    The Law requires from the Ministry of Health, Medical Education and Treatment to allocate to the female candidates at least 25% of its quota for residency in such medical fields as neurosurgery, urology, orthopedic, otorhinolaryngology (E.N.T), ophthalmology, radiology, psychopathic and 50% of the quota for general cardiac surgery.

    Regulation concerning creation of training centres to improve workers' skills (Art. 110 Labour Code)

    Approved by the Council of Ministers to cover conditions for establishment of training centres affiliated to factories or within a group of workshops; management and financing systems; selection of training instructors; issuance of training certificates for workers' job classifications; and election of coordinators for the centres. The Ministry of Industry shall provide skilled and semi-skilled workers with appropriate training for the needs of different sectors of the national economy.

    Sets up preconditions under which students can be sent abroad for study. Article 3 (Note 1), inter alia, provides that female students having Bachelor and higher degrees are allowed to be sent abroad for studying only in company of their husbands.
