    This law defines terms and conditions for the persons willing to undertake guardianship over unsupervised and ill-supervised minors. Article 5 of the law provides detailed preconditions under which a woman or a couple can undertake supervision of a minor (his/her martial status, existence of a child in the family, age of one of the spouses, etc.).

    Defines the criteria for calculation of the VAT tax and charges for goods and services supply.

    Article 16 of the Law defines the value added tax rate as 1.5 percent and specifies a special tax rate for some essential commodities and luxury commodities.

    Article 12 and 13 grant a tax exemption for some basic commodities such as food and medicine, agricultural products, animal and fish products, books, immovable properties, public transportation services and hand woven carpets.

    Defines patents, marks , trade names and specifies what types of patents, marks and trade names can be registered. The Law provides for detailed information required for filling up an application for the registration.

    This Law repeals the Trademarks and Patents Registration Act.

    Article 14, inter alia, provides that electronic documents as well as terms and conditions contained in the document, including signature, are valid and reliable documents before judicial or legal authorities.

    The Law defines the programs to be implemented by the Ministries of Education, Culture and Higher Education, Health and Medical Education and Islamic Culture and Guidance.

    Article 1, defines that privileges envisaged according to the number of children are no more valid for the fourth child and more, born one year after enactment of the law.
    Note 1 (A) - Maternity leave for female workers for the fourth child and more born one year after the approval of the law shall be decided separately.

    According to the Law the guardianship for minor or children with mental disabilities whose fathers have died or were martyrs shall be granted to their mothers.

    Living costs for these children shall be met either by the inherited property of the mother or if insufficient, an allowance shall be paid by the government or revolutionary bodies and put at the disposal of their mothers. A court may rule that the mother is not competent to assume guardianship of the children.

    Enacted 1928-36 and amended in 1969 and 1982-83. Volume I deals with the ownership and acquisition of property. Book 2 Part II covers contracts, transactions and obligations. Subsection 3 of this part covers contracts of employment. A servant or worker who finishes a contract and continues to be employed by the same employer shall be entitled to the same wages and conditions as his previous contract (ss. 514-515). Volume II contains provisions on individuals, including nationality (Book 2), marriage and divorce (Book 7), and children (Book 8). Volume III contains provisions on evidence and substantiation of claims.
