    Makes some major amendments to the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 by:
    - Amending the Long Title;
    - Amending section 2 concerning definitions of "Adolescent" and "Child";
    - Amending section 3 concerning Prohibition of employment of children in any occupation and process;
    - Inserting a new section 3A concerning prohibition of employment of adolescents in certain hazardous occupations and processes;
    - Making minor amendments to sections 4-13;
    - Amending section 14 concerning penalties for violations of the Act;
    - Inserting new sections 14A (offences to be cognizable), 14B (Child and Adolescent Labour Rehabilitation Fund), 14C (Rehabilitation of rescued child or adolescent), and 14D (Compounding offences);
    - Inserting new sections 17A (District Magistrate to implement the provisions.) and 17B (Inspection and monitoring);
    - Amending consequentially section 18;
    - Amends the list in the Schedule.

    Ministry of Labour and Employment Notification No. S.O. 2469(E) amending the Schedule to the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 (No. 61 of 1986).

    Amends the Schedule, Part A Occupations by adding "(17) Circus; (18) Caring of Elephants" to the list of hazardous occupations.

    Tamil Nadu Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Rules, 1994 (S.R.O. No. A-66 of 1994)

    Provide for working hours for child labour, maintenance of registers, and procedures for obtaining certificates of age. Child labour is not permitted to work in dangerous operations. Other measures are also provided to protect the health and safety of child labourers.

    Orissa Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Rules, 1994 (S.R.O. No. 219 of 1994)

    The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 prohibits the engagement of children in certain employment and regulates the conditions of work of children in certain other employment. These rules have been made by the State of Orissa under the said Act to carry into effect the objectives of the said Act. It provides for working hours to be followed for child labour, maintenance of registers of child labour, procedure for obtaining certificate of age, prohibition of child labour in dangerous operations and measures for protection of child labourers, and of their health and safety.

    An Act to prohibit the engagement of children in certain employments and to regulate the conditions of work for children in certain other employments. It applies to children under the age of fourteen years. It prohibits their employment in several listed trades, including work connected to railroads and ports. Within trades where children may work, the Act fixes the hours of work, forbids night work, provides for a weekly day of rest, and specifies basic health and safety requirements. The Schedule to the Act sets out the processes and occupations in which it is forbidden to employ children under the age of 14 years. This list is periodically amended by the Child Labour Technical Advisory Committee.
