    Establishes the scope of application of this law, general concepts, restriction on working with the youth (Chapter I); regulates organization of youth work including functions of the Ministry of Education and Research, of local governors, youth councils, operation of project camps, state supervision over youth camp activities (Chapter II); financing of youth work including state budget financing and grants (Chapter III); liability (Chapter IV); implementing provisions.
    Repeals the previous law of 17 February 1999 "On Youth Work".

    Concerns youth between the ages of 7 and 26. Provides for the creation of conditions to develop activities for young people and to create opportunities for voluntary activities in the family, educational programmes, and work. Also provides grant support to youth associations. English translation available (as amended up to Act dated 16 October 2002).

    Provides for a list of occupations allowed for minors between 13 and 15 years of age, a list of occupations with hard and harmful working conditions prohibited for employment of minors, a list of occupations with hard and harmful working conditions prohibited for employment of women and list of underground sanitary and domestic service occupations for which women may be employed, a list of occupations where persons under 21 years of age can be employed after medical examination and periodical medical examinations of those employed is mandatory until they reach 21 years of age, and a list of occupations where initial and periodical medical examinations are mandatory.
