    Provides for the creation of commissions in each region of the Republic (members, procedure, organization and financing) and for its tasks and competencies.     Defines collective labour disputes as disagreements arising between the employer (or employers association) and the workers (or trade unions) on matters such as the conclusion, implementation or modification of collective agreements and the implementation of labour law. Chapter II governs the conciliation procedure. Both parties have the right to refer the dispute for conciliation to the Public conciliator. The dispute can be taken to the court if the conciliation fails. Chapter III deals with the right to strike and to lock-out. The decision to strike shall be taken either by the general meeting of workers, the workers' association or the trade union. The decision to lock-out shall be taken by the employer. Strike is prohibited for civil servants and the Armed Forces. Defines unlawful strike/lock-out. Chapter IV inter alia concerns the payment of wages during a strike/lock-out and the rights and obligations of participants. Available in French.

    Defines collective agreement. A collective agreement might be bi-partite or tripartite, i.e. concluded between: a) the employer and the trade union; b) the employers organization and the trade union; c) the national association of employers organization and the national association of trade unions; and d) the national association of employers organization, the national association of trade unions and the Government. The scope of the agreement shall vary accordingly. States however that the agreement shall not limit workers' rights as defined by national law. Chapter III governs the procedures for concluding and modifying a collective agreement and Chapter IV deals with its implementation. Available in French and in English.

    Provides comprehensive legislation on trade unions. Chapter I governs the creation and termination of activities of trade unions. Guarantees the right to organize (s. 2) and the independence of trade unions (s. 4). Chapter II outlines fundamental rights of trade unions, including the right to conclude collective agreements (s. 8) and to organize meetings and strikes (s. 9). Chapter III regulates financial activities of trade unions. Available in French.
