Makes explicit the information required when applying for trade union registration. Establishes the grounds on which registration may be refused. Provides for cancellation of registration. Regulates trade union accounts and provides for audits. Governs the rules of registered unions and regulates the alteration of those rules. Makes trade unions immune from actions of tort. Provides for peaceful picketing and the prevention of intimidation.

Grants the Administrator the power to direct formal investigation of accidents and cases of occupational diseases. Sets penalties for offences. Applies the act ot public servants. Grants the Administrator with the power to make regulations for the purposes of carrying out the act. The Schedule provides Forms for use with the act.

Comprehensive legislation establishing the basic rules for workplace safety and health in factories. Deals, inter alia, with overcrowding, lighting, draining, ventilation, cleaning, supply of drinking water, first aid treatment, the provision of sanitary facilites for workers, protection of the eyes, fencing of certain machines, cleaning of machines, means of escape in case of fire, and rules concerning steam boilers and lifting machines.

    Regulates the recruiting of workers. Provides that the welfare of the population of Dominica is to be considered before granting anyone the permission to recruit labour. Prohibits the employment of juveniles (those aged between sixteen and eighteen) from being recruited without parental consent. Legislates that information is to be provided to workers concerning the conditions of theiir employment. Sets the maximum period of employment at two years. Establishes that recruiters or employers are to pay for transport to the place of employment. Provides for the care and repatriation of a worker's family and for the medical examination of workers. Governs the granting of permits and license fees.

Sets the amount of compensation for death, permanent total disablement, the various states of partial disablement and temporary disablement. Regulates the method of calculating wages. Provides for the payment and distribution of compensation and for deductions for costs. Legislates that compensation is not to be assigned, attached or charged. Governs medical examinations. Provides for remedies against third parties. Regulates cases of the bankruptcy of an employer in connection with the payment of compensation. Governs the appointment of commissioners to hear cases and appeals. Estalbishes proceedings. Provides for the registration of orders and agreements and their enforcement. Establishes rules concerning the transfer of funds.
