    Provides for the control of noxious and dangerous substances. Governs the licensing requirements for storage of such substances and for the inspection of premises. Grants the minister responsible for trade with the power to make regulations for the purposes of carrying out the act.

    An Act to provide for the control of the importation, sale, storage and use of pesticides.

    This Act provides rules relative to placing on the market, handling and use of pesticides. It consists of 9 sections: Short title (1); Interpretation (2); Creation of the Control Board and appointment of officers (3); Administrative expenses (4); Authorisation of entry (5); Powers of inspectors (6); Regulations (7); Offences and penalties (8); Taking of samples without compensation (9). A Pesticides Control Board shall be established under the Ministry of Agriculture (sect. 3). The Board shall advise the Minister on matters relevant to the making of Regulations under this Act and carry out provisions of the Act and of the Regulations made under the Act (sect. 3). Sections 5 and 6 deal with powers of inspectors assisting the Board. Section 7 grants extensive regulation making powers to the Minister responsible for agriculture. Section 8 prescribes offences and penalties and section 9 provides for powers of inspectors to take samples.
