    Decree No. 89/2001 of the Ministry of Health defining the classification of occupations, fixing the limit indicators of biological exposure tests and requirements for notification of work with asbestos and with biological agents.

    Defines four categories of occupation according to the level of health hazard. Announces requirements for notification of work with asbestos, risk of exposure to asbestos, work with biological agents.

  4. Czechia - Protection against particular hazards - Regulation, Decree, Ordinance

    Order No. 502/2000 on the protection of health against the negative effects of noise and vibrations.

    Defines the maximum levels of noise and different types of vibrations in relation to the nature of the working place, as well as the manner of measuring the intensity of noise and of vibration. It also regulates the obligation to provide protective equipment against noise and vibrations.

    Decree No. 373/2000 of the Ministry of Environment defining requirements for closed spaces and for required protective measures for different categories of risk while manipulating genetically modified organisms.

    Annex 1 defines protective measures in microbiological laboratories for each of the 4 categories of risk. Annex 2 concerns greenhouses and other spaces used for growing plants. Annex 3 defines measures concerning animal farms. Annex 4 concerns other types of spaces.

Provides for conditions for utilising nuclear energy and ionising radiation; system for protection of people and the environment; obligations during preparation for and implementation of programmmes designed to reduce exposure to natural sources and exposure due to radiation accidents; requirements for civil liability in case of nuclear damage; disposal of radioactive waste; and for state supervision over nuclear energy utilization.

  8. Czechia - Protection against particular hazards - Regulation, Decree, Ordinance

    State Regulation of the State Office for Nuclear Safety on Radiation Protection Requirements (No. 184/1997 Sb.).

    Comprehensive legislation on radiation protection requirements. Stipulates the extent of content of radionuclides, or the pollution by them, at the exceeding of which the substances or subjects are deemed radionuclide sources. Sets forth criteria for ranking ioinising radiation sources, technical and organisational requirements for the proof of level of exposure, and limits of exposure. Also makes provision for assurance of radiation protection during radiation practices, during interventions for the reduction of natural exposure and during interventions in order to reduce exposure as a consequence of radiation accidents.

    Regulation of the State Office for Nuclear Safety (No. 146/1997 Sb.).

    Regulates activities directly affecting nuclear safety and activities especially important with respect to radiation protection. Provides for qualification and training requirements, method to be used for verification of special professional competency and for issue of authorisations, as well as for some related matters.
