    The amendments ensure equality of treatment between employees that benefit from a regular work contract and employees on short term employment contracts who are employed for a performance of a specific task and whose work contract ends with the task.

    Amends almost all sections of the Labour Code (Act No. 262/2006) to take into consideration the above principle. In addition to amendments to existing sections, the text adds the following sections: 1a, 4a, 4b, 43a, 51a, 73a, 134a, 301a, 307a, 339a, 345a, 346a, 346b, 346c, and 350a and repeals sections 82, 84a and 332.

    Act No. 435/2004 on Employment is amended by adding a specific provision for job seekers who lost their employment during the last 6 months in a particularly drastic way due to a serious professional fault.

    Act No. 187/2006 is amended by adding a new section 7a on health insurance of employees employed for a performance of a specific task.

    Act No. 309/2006 is amended by adding a new section 10a on proof of certification of professional competence valid for 5 years.

    The Act repeals section 16 of Decree No. 125/1993 Coll., laying down the conditions and rates of employer liability insurance for accidents at work or occupational diseases, as amended by Decree No. 43/1995 Coll. and Decree No. 487/2001 Coll.

    Article 9 prohibits forced labour, but shall not apply to: a) work ordered in accordance with the law to persons serving a prison term; b) military service; c) service required on the basis of law in cases of natural disasters; and d) action ordered by law to protect the life, health, or rights of others.

    In Chapter IV, provides for economic and social rights. States that everybody has the right to choose freely his or her profession and the training for such a profession, to associate freely with others for the protection of his or her economic and social interests. Trade unions shall be established independently of the State. Guarantees the right to strike.

    Provides that women, adolescents and disabled persons are entitled to increased protection of their health at work and to special working conditions.

Chapter VII contains special provisions on prosecution of juveniles. Part II provides for crimes against the Republic, economic crimes, crimes against public order, crimes causing common danger, crimes grossly infringing civic coexistence, crimes against the family and young people, crime against freedom and human dignity, crimes against property, crimes against humanity, crimes against conscription and civilian service, and military crimes. Finaly, Part III contains transitory and concluding provisions.
