    Law N 70(I) of 2015 amending the Law regulating the Operation of Shops and the Conditions of Employment of Workers (Amendment N 3). - Text in Greek

    The present Law amends the Laws N 155(I) of 2006, 68(I) of 2007, 6(I) of 2011, 36(I) and 55(I) of 2015 regulating the Operation of Shops and the Conditions of Employment of Workers (Amendment N3).

    Article 2 of the present Law amends article 6 by adding new paragraph (e) worded as follows: "to exercise any other power, necessary for the implementation of the provisions of the present Law".
    Article 3 replaces article 12 regarding the daily and weekly rest.
    Article 4 replaces article 15 regarding the mornings and evenings off.
    Article 5 amends article 16 by adding new paragraph (g) worded as follows: "Easter Sunday".
    Article 6 amends article 17 by replacing the 2nd phrase with a new one related to the penalization and the sanction imposed to shop owners in case of non compliance with or breach of the 1st phrase of the article and by adding, after 2nd phrase, the following new phrases: 3rd phrase, regarding the conduct by Inspectors of extrajudicial settlements for offences committed by shop owners; 4th phrase, regarding the notification of the above extrajudicial settlement which defines the offence, the time of its commission, as well as the amount of the fine due; 5th phrase, regarding further sanctions in case of a second and a third consecutive offence consisting of non compliance with or breach of the 1st phrase of the article; 6th phrase, equating the above amount of fine to a penalty fee imposed due to a conviction for the relevant offence; 7th phrase, regarding the payment process and the quittance of the above amount and 8th phrase, stipulating that the extrajudicial settlement of the offence and the payment of the relevant amount does not consist of a conviction, although in case of a convicting judicial judgment for the same offence, the tribunal may take this fact into consideration for the purposes of computation of punishment.
    Article 7 replaces 2nd phrase of article 18, regarding the compensation due to every employee who consents to work during the bank holidays set out in article 16 and on Sunday as part of the weekly rest, according to article 12.
    Article 8 amends the wording of article 20.
    Article 9 amends the wording of article 21.
    Article 10 amends article 23 by adding new paragraph (e) worded as follows: "Easter Sunday".
    Article 11 amends article 30, regarding the currency of the amounts due.

    Law No. 60(I) of 2010 amending the Law on Companies (Ο περί Εταιρειών (Τροποποιητικός) (Αρ. 2) Νόμος του 2010)

    It amends the following articles of the basic law 1968-2010 (No. 9 of 1968 to No. 42(I) of 2010):
    - article 2 related to definitions of the terms "company introduced in the organized market", "electronic means", "date of registration", "member state", "directive 2004/25/EC", and "organized market".
    - article 126 related to equal treatment of all members of the company concerning their right to vote and participation in the general assembly.
    - article 127 related to the proceedings of the company's general assembly.
    - article 127 through introduction new articles 127A and 127B related to the proceedings of the general assembly, the rights of the members during the general assembly, the assembly's decision process, as well as issues of confidentiality.
    - article 128 through introduction of new articles 128A, 128B and 128C related to conditions of members participation in the elections of the general assembly, participation via electronic means, and the right to submit questions.
    - article 130 related to member's representative, the recruitment process, the rights of members to propose more than one representatives.
    - article 132 related to obstacles' revocation for the purpose of effectively exercising the right to vote.
    - article 133 related to the capacity of the member representative to represent the member in other meetings other than the general assembly.
    - article 139 through introduction of a new article 139A concerning the election process in the general assembly.

    Law Mo. 18(I) of 2005 amending Laws concerning paid annual leave (1967-2002).

    Provides for the right of a person other than the widowed to act as legal representative for the purpose of claiming compensation on behalf of a person entitled to annual leave of a deceased or incapacitated worker.

    Act No 76(I) of 2002 concerning Part-Time Employees (Prohibition of Unfavourable and Discriminatory Treatment).

    Provides for the elimination of discrimination against employees under part-time contracts and for the improvement of their working conditions. Promotes part-time employment as a contribution to a more flexible organization of working time according to the employees' and employers' needs. Establishes the principle of proportional treatment concerning social security rights, maternity and occupational safety and health. Does not apply to part-time employees working on an occasional basis and to full-time employees who work part-time due to temporary decreases of working hours because of technical, economic or structural reasons.

    Law No. 63(I) of 2002 implementing Directives 93/104/EC and 2000/34/EC concerning the organization of working time.

    Introduces minimum periods of daily rest, weekly rest and annual leave and the maximum permissible duration of weekly working time, including that of night work. It does not apply to members of the armed forces and the police as well as seafarers falling within the scope of Law 79(1) of 2003. Executive and managerial staff, domestic workers and persons employed in religious ceremonial services are exempted from the application of the provisions on minimum daily and weekly rest and maximum weekly and night working time. Allows for special arrangements through collective or other agreements for persons employed in professions the nature of which requires the application of flexible working times.

    Provides that any decision of the Labour Court can be appealed, only for legal reasons, at the Supreme Court within forty-two days from the date of the decision.
