Cooperatives Law. - Adoption: 2006-12-13 | BHR-2006-L-83311 The aim of this Law is to regulate cooperatives. The present Law is composed of 8 Chapters divided into 69 articles. Chapter 1 contains general provisions. Chapter 2 provides for the establishment of cooperatives and deals with the following matters: requirements and conditions for establishing cooperatives; constituent act; statute; registration's documents; internal organization; etc. Chapter 3 pertains to the management of cooperatives including the Administration Body and General Assembly. Chapter 4 provides for the finance sources and incomes. Chapter 5 concerns the control of cooperatives. Chapter 6 addresses the joint cooperatives and cooperative unions. Chapter 7 refers to the dissolution and liquidation of cooperatives. Chapter 8 contains offences and penalties.

Resolution No. 26 of 2004 regulating the registration of cooperative unions. - Adoption: 2004-05-18 | BHR-2004-M-83312 The aim of this Resolution is to regulate the registration of cooperative unions. The present Resolution is composed of 8 articles. Article 1 lays down the requirements for the establishment of cooperative unions. Articles 2-8 deal with documents necessary for the registration including the statute, fees and publication of the registration in the Official Gazette.

Resolution No. 50 of 2001 regulating the registration of cooperatives under the control of the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs. - Adoption: 2001-09-18 | BHR-2001-M-83314 The aim of this Resolution is to regulate the registration of cooperatives under the control of the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs. This Resolution is composed of 6 articles. Article 1 decrees that the registration of cooperatives under the control of the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs shall consist in the registration of their statutes at the Local Communities Development Department. Article 2 defines registration fees and taxes. Article 4 specifies the data and information to be recorded in the Register.

Resolution No. 49 of 2001 issuing the Model Regulation the Statute for Cooperatives. - Adoption: 2001-09-17 | BHR-2001-M-83315 The aim of this Resolution is to regulate the establishment and management of cooperatives. This Resolution is composed of 2 articles and the Model Regulation for the Statute of cooperatives. Article 1 adopts the attached Regulation as a model for cooperative statutes. The Model Regulation provides for the following matters: name, seat, validity, objectives and activity of the cooperative; members and membership; management of the cooperative including the Council of Administration, General Assembly and Finance; (4) incorporation, dissolution and liquidation of cooperatives; etc.

Legislative Decree No. 24 of 2000 issuing the Cooperatives Law. - Adoption: 2000-10-09 | BHR-2000-R-83313 The aim of this Legislative Decree is to regulate the establishment of cooperatives. This Legislative Decree is composed of 8 Sections divided into 69 articles. Section I contains general provisions including terms and definitions. Section II deals with the establishment of cooperatives including: (a) requirements and conditions, (b) constituent act, (c) registration procedures; and (d) membership. Section III refers to the management of cooperatives in particular: (a) Administrative Council; (b) budget and account reviser; (c) reports; and (d) general assembly. Section IV pertains to incomes and financial resources of cooperatives. Section V provides for the control on cooperatives. Section VI deals with common cooperatives and cooperative unions. Section VII deals with the dissolution and liquidation of cooperatives. Section VIII contains offences and penalties.

Cooperative Societies Law No. 8 of 1972 - Adoption: 1972 | BHR-1972-L-38636 General provisions cover the definition of cooperatives, membership, and shares. It sets forth the establishment of cooperative societies, which include by-laws and registration. Sets up the General Assembly who consists of all members of the Society. Specifies that each Society shall have a Management Committee to follow up the preparation of reports and final accounts, and a supervisory Committee to control the functioning of the society's operations, by-laws and decisions of the General Meeting. Provisions are made for the distribution of surplus and the reserve fund. The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has the right to supervise all kinds of cooperatives through its inpectors as for example to stop the execution of any cooperative decision if it is against the cooperative law or cooperative principles. It finally deals with Secondary Societies, Cooperative Unions, as well as the liquidation and cancellation of cooperative societies.
