    New paragraphs added to Article 5 of Law No. 74 of 2006 on the Welfare, Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, which provides that disabled employee or person caring for disabled relative (first degree relative), are entitled to two paid rest hours.

    Employees who assume the duties of education, rehabilitation or caring for disabled persons in government schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education and Rehabilitation Centers that belongs to the Ministry of Social Development are entitled to a monthly salary increment as follows:

    100 BD to employees in the category of educational employment.
    50 BD to employees in the category of public employees.

    The Civil Service Bureau shall determine the positions whose occupants deserve defrayal of the aforesaid increment.

    Section 7 of Act No. 74 of 2006 is replaced as follows:
    Disabled persons are entitled to BD 100 monthly social allowance (as from January 1st 2011), according to the conditions and requirements established by a ministerial Order after the approval of the High Committee.
    This allowance will not affect any other rights or benefits granted to disabled persons.

  9. Bahrain - Disabled workers - Regulation, Decree, Ordinance

    Ministerial Order No. 26 of 2008 with respect to licensing conditions and procedures to allocate and operate rehabilitation organisations and centres, care shelters and homes together with special workshops for disabled persons.

    All organisations, centres etc. must apply for a licence in order to operate. The Order provides the modalities for obtaining a licence.
