Sharjah Executive Council Order No. 9 of 2014 on Maternity Leave for non-Emirati working mothers and Paternity Leave. - Adoption: 2014-02-04 | Date of entry into force: 2014-02-04 | ARE-2014-R-99677 Female employees shall be granted a maternity leave with total salary for 60 days, and may be awarded two weeks before the expected date of delivery based on a medical report from a certified specialist doctor.
Female employees shall be given a period for breastfeeding, two hours a day for six months and one hour a day for the next six months, for one year after maternity leave, at the beginning or end of working hours.
Maternity leave and annual leave or leave without pay up to a maximum of 100 days may be combined from the start of maternity leave.
A three-paid day paternity leave shall be given to male employee within a month of the date of childbirth.
