An Act to promote the development of the economy by encouraging entrepreneurship, enterprise efficiency, flexibility and simplicity in the formation and maintenance of companies; provide for the incorporation, categorisation, management and administration of different types of companies; provide the procedure for the approval of company names, change of name and conversion of companies; provide for shareholders‘ rights and obligations, the conduct of meetings and the passing of resolutions by shareholders; to encourage transparency and high standards of corporate governance by providing for the functions and obligations of company secretaries and directors; provide for issue of shares, share capital requirements, procedures for alteration and reduction of share capital and disclosure requirements of companies; provide for the public issue of shares, the issue and registration of charges and debentures; incorporate financial reporting provisions, maintenance of accounting records, and access to financial information of companies; provide for amalgamations; provide for the registration of foreign companies doing business in Zambia; provide for the deregistration of companies; repeal and replace the Companies Act, 1994; and provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

An Act to provide for the composition, functions, tenure and procedures of the Citizenship Board of Zambia; make procedural provisions for the acquisition, deprivation and renunciation of citizenship of Zambia; repeal and replace the Citizenship of Zambia Act, 1975; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

Copyright and Performance Rights Act (Cap. 406). -

Provides for copyright in literary, musical and artistic works, computer programmes, audiovisual works, sound recordings, broadcasts and cable programmes. Also makes provision for rights in performance. Section 10 regulates first ownership of copyright. Inter alia establishes that first ownership of copyright shall be subject to agreement under subsection 11(3) to assign ownership of copyright expected to arise in the future.

To consolidate the laws relating to marriages; to provide for the recognition and registration of customary law unions; to provide for the recognition of civil partnerships; to amend the Child Abduction Act [Chapter 5:05], the Children’s Act [Chapter 5:06], the Guardianship of Minors Act [Chapter 5:08], the Maintenance Act [Chapter 5:09], the Matrimonial Causes Act [Chapter 5:13], the General Law Amendment Act [Chapter 8:07], and the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23]; to repeal the Customary Marriages Act [Chapter 5:07] and the Marriage Act [Chapter 5:11]; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

Companies and Other Business Entities Act [Chapter 24:31]. -

To provide for the constitution, incorporation, registration, management and internal administration of companies and winding up of companies and private business corporations; to enable the voluntary registration of other business entities; to ensure the removal of defunct companies and private business corporations by re-registering all existing companies and private business corporations; to repeal the Companies Act [Chapter 24:03] and the Private Business Corporations Act [Chapter 24:11]; and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
