Subordonne à un examen médical concluant l'inscription d'un marin au registre d'équipage; est réputé concluant l'examen qui ne relève aucune affection de nature à être aggravée par le service en mer ou rendant inapte à ce service ou comportant des risques pour la santé d'autres personnes à bord. L'examen donne lieu à un certificat d'aptitude physique des gens de mer. Les articles 8 à 16 énumèrent les maladies incompatibles avec la navigation. Les conditions d'acuité visuelle, de sens chromatique et d'acuité auditive sont fixées à l'annexe 1. Le modèle du certificat d'aptitude physique des gens de mer est fixé à l'annexe 2.

L'article 2 du code du travail maritime (S.L 1967-Tun.2) est abrogé et remplacé par de nouvelles dispositions précisant que la profession de marin est libre mais qu'il est interdit à un marin d'embarquer sur un navire étranger sans l'autorisation de l'autorité maritime du port d'embarquement. Les membres de l'équipage doivent être de nationalité tunisienne dans une proportion fixée par arrêté ministériel.

These Regulations were promulgated under the authority of the Maritime Act. Chapter 1 pertains to the registration and certification of various classes of officers and crew members; it includes examination subjects for each employment category as well as various fees related to certification. Chapter 8 contains the manning requirements of various classes of merchant ships. It also provides a standard agreement between seamen and ship master establishing the duties and responsibilities that each has to the other.
