    Regulates the obligatory employment of disabled workers in enterprises with 50 or more employees. The disabled workers have to represent at least 2% of those permanently employed by the organization. Everyone whose working capacity has been reduced by 40% by a disability is considered to be disabled. The disability has to be certified in a report by the Commission on Health.

    Governs any arrangements that may be made for the provision by contractors of certain dockyard services. It declares the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment Regulations 1981) applicable to dockyard undertakings, subject to special conditions (section 1(4)). Under the Act, representatives of independent recognised trade unions shall be informed of the transfer, its legal, economic and social implications for the employees, and any measures envisaged to be taken on their behalf by the employer and/or the Secretary of State. If the Secretary envisages taking measures, consultations with trade union representatives shall take place (section 1(8)). The trade union may bring court action alleging the Secretary's failure to fulfil his duty in this regard (section 2). Other miscellaneous provisions.

En tal sentido, establece el procedimiento de contratación; impone a cargo de la Dirección la obligación de realizar los aportes correspondientes, incluidas las prestaciones del Seguro por Enfermedad, y asegurar al contratado en el Banco de Seguros del Estado; y establece que las contrataciones no podrán tener un plazo inicial superior a los 24 meses y que la contratación no otorgará derechos ni expectativas jurídicamente invocables para acceder a un cargo presupuestal.
