This Act amends, inter alia, the Labour Relations Act 1956 (LS 1956 - SA 1... 1959 - SA 2) to further define certain expressions (e.g. "unfair labour practice") and the persons to whom the Act applies. It alters the measure of representativeness of a trade union in respect of a specific interest and amends certain requirements in regard to the prohibition of strikes. It extends the indemnification of certain bodies and persons against losses incurred as a result of strikes or lock-outs. The Act further defines the functions of the industrial courts (especially in relation to ordering an employee's reinstatement). It provides for the establishment of a Labour Appeal Court and determines the court's functions. Finally, the Act sets forth procedures for the settlement of disputes by industrial councils and governs other miscellaneous matters.
