Promulgated by Department of Health and Human Services. Implements select provisions of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act, 2000. Act requires promulgation of guidelines for determining whether an individual with cancer shall be found "at least as likely as not" to have sustained that cancer from exposure to ionizing radiation in the performance of duty for nuclear weapons production programs of the Department of Energy and its predecessor agencies. Guidelines will be applied by Department of Labor, which is responsible for determining whether to award compensation to individuals seeking federal compensation under the Act. |
