Part I prohibits discrimination because of sex with respect to conditions of employment, e.g. wages, social benefits, action on further education and other working conditions enumerated under section 2. Fines and punishments for violation of this Act are set out in s. 2a: inter alia, the employer is liable for damages, must pay the difference in the event of unequal pay for work of equal value, or must take other appropriate action to guarantee equal treatment and rights for men and women. Also establishes a supervisory committee to ensure equal rights and sets out the different tasks of this body. Part II concerns equal rights in the agriculture and forestry sector and contains similar regulations as in Part I. Consolidated text.
