Resumen/cita: Regulates issue of community service orders as an alternative to imprisonment. Community service orders requiring convicted person to perform unpaid work may be made where a court convicts a person 18 years or older and sentences him or her to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 2 years and not being a sentence fixed by law. Court shall not make community service order unless convicted person gives his consent; court, after considering report from probation officer, is satisfied that convicted person is suitable person to be subject to such order; and adequate arrangements have been made for carrying out order. Community service order shall be made for a period of not less than 60 hours nor more than 300 hours, spanning over a period of not more than 12 months. Also regulates conditions of community service, obligations of convicted person, obligation of community service officer, amendment of community service order, and breach of community service order.
