Second Region

Implements, in part, Council Directive 92/104/EEC concerning the minimum requirements for improving the health and safety protection of workers in mineral-extracting industries with respect to: safety instruction, health surveillance, operating plans for rockbursts and gas outbursts, and flammable materials. Other regulations require owners of mines to ensure that no work is carried out unless the health and safety risk to persons at work in the mine has been assessed and documented (reg. 4). Regulation 7 requires employers to provide health surveillance.
