Comprised of 11 Chapters and 146 articles, covering a broad range of matters including basic rights, the Federation and the Länder, the Bundestag, Bundesrat, Joint Committee and the Presidency and administration of justice. All people are equal under the law, men and women have equal rights, and no one shall be prejudiced or favoured because of their sex, birth, race, language, national or social origin, faith, religion or political opinions. Grants freedom of religion, expression and assembly. All individuals and occupations or professions are guaranteed the right to form associations to safeguard and improve working and economic conditions. Restricts measures that may be directed against industrial disputes engaged in for this purpose. Gives all Germans the right to freely choose their occupation or profession, place of work study or training.
