Second Region

Grants a pension benefit to an officer when he retires on or after attaining the age of 55 or, with the approval of the statutory body, the age of 50; on the abolition of the office in question; on the ground of ill-health; with the approval of the statutory body; on or after attaining the age of 45 and completing 15 years pensionable service; on or after attaining the age of 45, with the approval of the statutory body; in the case of redundancy (however, no pension is payable to the officer until he attains the age of 50); upon compulsory retirement on attaining the age of 60; or on any other lawful ground. Provides for a gratuity payable to female officers (at least 5 years of service required) upon the production of their marriage certificate and related matters.
