Abstract/Citation: | Clause 1(b) of Sick Pay (Absence Because of Child's Illness) Law 5753-1993 is amended as follows: Section A of Clause B, amended as follows: " A disabled child's parent who has worked for at least one year in the same place of employment is entitled to receive up to 18 days annually for absences in order to provide personal assistance to a disability-diagnosed child and requiring parental absence from the workplace. These days can be offset against the parent's own sick leave days or annual vacation, as the parent chooses". Additional paragraphs a(1) and a(2) added after Section A Clause B, which provides: *An employee may use their sick leave days in order to assist their children, beginning from their first day of absence. Such payment also includes partial absences, and, under such circumstances, the absence is calculated on an hourly basis. *The parent is entitled to 52 more hours per year (if employed full-time, and on a pro rata basis if less), which are added to their sick leave days as provided by law. |
