Abstract/Citation: Section 1 repeals section 23 of Law No. 35 of 1976 on Trade Unions.

Section 2 amends and replaces Section 42 of Law No. 35, as follows:
"If one of the trade union board directors member reached the age of retirement or become disabled or for any other reason his seat became empty, the next candidate with the highest number of votes shall replace his seat.
The minister has the right to appoint board members of the trade union, if the minimum required number of members did not manage for any reason, to fill the vacant seats."

Section 3 provides that the election of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation is postponed for six months, or it could be held before the six months if the government issues a new Trade Union Law.
