Abstract/Citation: | Repeals the Measures in the Prevention and Suppression of Trafficking in Women and Children Act B.E. 2540 (1997). Defines the offence of "human trade" (Chapter 1). Establishes the Human Trade Prevention And Suppression Commission and provides for the powers and duties of its officials (Chapter 2 and 3). Also provides for assistance to the victims of trafficking (Chapter 4). Establishes the Human Trade Prevention and Suppression Fund (Chapter 5). Chapter 6 sets out the penalties for offences under the Act including imprisonment (maximum of 15 years if trafficking involves a minor under the age of 15 years) and fines. |
