Abstract/Citation: Comprehensive legislation on maritime transport security. Made under Maritime Transport Security Act 2003. Divided into 13 parts. Part 1 (s. 1.01-1.70) contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 (s. 2.30-2.35) provides for maritime security levels and security directions. Part 3 (s. 3.05-3.245) deals with maritime security plans. Part 4 (s. 4.20-4.115) makes provision for ship security plans and ISSCs. Part 5 (s. 5.20-5.25) deals with regulated foreign ships. Part 6 (s. 6.05-6.120) regulates maritime security zones. Part 7 (s. 7.1-7.50) provides for other security measures. Part 8 deals with powers of officials, Part 9 with reporting of maritime transport security incidents, Part 10 with information-gathering, Part 11 with enforcement, and Part 12 with review of decisions. Part 13 contains miscellaneous provisions.
