Abstract/Citation: Provides for establishment and management of correctional facilities. Divided into 8 parts. Part 1 (s. 1-2) contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 (s. 3-5) provides for constitution of correctional facilities, lock-ups and legalised police cells. Part 3 (s. 6-8) regulates appointment, administration, powers and duties of correctional officers. Part 4 (s. 9-15) deals with powers and duties of correctional officers. Part 5 (s.16-28) regulates custody and removal of persons detained. Part 6 (s. 29) provides for juvenile delinquency. Part 7 (s. 30-38) makes provision for discipline and control of inmates. Section 30 sets forth duty of inmates to carry out duties and tasks assigned to them. Part 8 (s. 39-49) contains miscellaneous provisions.
