Abstract/Citation
Made under Occupational Health and Safety Act. Designates explosives as hazardous material under the act. Also designates occupation of person who works with asbestos, silica, coal dust or lead as hazardous occupation under the act. Similarly, blasting area is deemed hazardous work site under the act. The following diseases are deemed notifiable diseases under the act: (a) asbestosis; (b) mesothelioma; (c) asbestos-induced lung cancer; (d) asbestos-induced laryngeal cancer; (e) asbestos-induced gastrointestinal cancer; (f) coal worker's pneumoconiosis; (g) silicosis; (h) lead poisoning; and (i) noise-induced hearing loss. Also makes provision for blaster's permit, board of examiners for mining, mining certificates and several related matters.
