Abstract/Citation: Regulates paternity and adoption leave as provided for in the Employment Act 2002. Right to leave is available to employees with 26 weeks of qualifying service. Employee has option of taking either one week's leave or two consecutive weeks' leave. Leave may only be taken within 56 days of child's birth or placement with adopter. Employee is obliged to notify employer of intention to take leave and of choice in respect of available options.
