Abstract/Citation: Part II of the Order makes fresh provision for the protection of workers in relation to the payment of wages. It sets general restrictions on deductions which may be made from wages and on payments which may be received by employers, and lays down provisions on deductions from wages of workers in retail employment on account of cash shortages. It also governs complaints regarding unauthorised deductions. Part III revises the scope of operation and powers of wages councils and provides that the Wages Councils (Northern Ireland) Order 1982 (S.I. N.I. 23) shall, in general, cease to have effect (s. 13). This Part contains provisions on computation and apportionment of remuneration, application of wages orders to piece workers and enforcement. Part IV sets forth excluded employments. Entry into force two months from date of being made, with stated exceptions (s. 1).
