Codifies practical guidelines for labour relations practices to be observed by the government, employers and employees. Seeks to ensure and promote justice and fairness to the parties, good labour relations, sustained social and economic progress and rapid national development. S. 1 addresses freedom of association and the right to organise, s. 2 covers collective bargaining, s. 3 deals with the settlement of disputes, s. 4 conditions of employment, s. 5 grievance and disciplinary procedures, s. 6 consultation and cooperation at the enterprise level, and sections 7-9 the roles and responsibilities of the various tripartite parties.
