Abstract/Citation
Regulates the determination of claims and questions with regard to social security benefits. Part One makes preliminary definitions. Part Two governs the determination of questions by the Social Security Board. Establishes the procedure for determination of questions by the board. Provides for reference to the Court by questions of law as well as for appeals against Board decisions on questions of law. Regulates the review of board decisions. Part Three governs the determination of claims and questions by the director or by an appeal tribunal. Regulates the submission of questions to the director. Provides for the hearing of appeals by an appeals tribunal and for the review of decisions by the director or by a tribunal. Part Four governs the determination of disablement questions. Regulates that disablement questions are to be determined by a medical board. Provides for the contitution of medical boards and the consequences of board decisions. Part Five regulates appeals or references to appeal tribunals on a point of law arising from the decisions of a medical board. Part Six makes miscellaneous regulations. Establishes miscellaneous powers of the Social Security Board and appeals tribunals. Provides for the review of medical board decisions and for the adjustment of benefits.
