Abstract/Citation: Comprehensive legislation regarding mining rights. Part VIII provides for the regulation of safety and health of miners. Part XIV contains special provisions regarding Amerindians. Amerindians shall be deemed as lawful occupiers of land on which they live. Amerindians are prohibited from extracting minerals or resources unless they possess a licence; where they do have a license, any extracted resources shall be sold on behalf of Amerindians by the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission. Repeals the Mining Act (No. 34 of 1920).
