Abstract/Citation
Replaces Part III of the Industrial Relations Act, relating to recognition of trade unions. Employers shall recognize any trade union which represents more than 50 per cent of employees. Sets forth procedures in the case where more than one union claims to represent the majority of employees. Employers shall not discriminate against or intimidate employees who are members or representatives of unions. Inserts a new Part IVA establishing an Industrial Tribunal, which shall hear and determine trade disputes and register industrial agreements within non-essential services. The Tribunal may award damages. Decisions by the Tribunal may be appealed in the Court of Appeal.
