Second Region

The Minister of Social Affairs has the power to extend the binding character of provisions of a collective agreement that apply to a majority of the persons employed in an industry, to all employers or employees with respect to labour contracts that are or should be covered by the agreement in virtue of the nature of the work to which they relate. The Minister of Social Affairs is also allowed to declare provisions of a collective agreement not binding, i.e. the provision ceases to be considered as forming part of the agreement.
