Second Region

Regulates the respective functions and obligations of the supervisory authority, the Petroleum Directorate, employers and employees as well as other entities involved. Prescribes the information to be submitted to the Directorate and specifies the preventive measures that must be taken at work places. These measures include occupational safety planning, organization and training, medical examinations of personnel, safety equipment and clothes, emergency training as well as registration and documentation of incidents. Sets out specific requirements regarding the working environment, including requirements concerning space, living quarters and noise levels, as well as the organization of work. Prior to operations, a specific plan regarding the hours or work must be submitted. Implements previous legislation as well as a series of Community Directives on the same subjects pursuant to the EEA agreement.
