The present Decree simplifies the determination of benefit eligibility for children under the age of 18. The simplification consists of standardized amounts of benefits for insured persons to be determined on the basis of maintenance support and the income of the child in question. The same simplification has been made for insured persons who care for a child of 18 years or older, but younger than 25 year old. These changes are made in the General Children Benefit/Allowance Act ("Algemene Kinderbijslagwet, AKW") and enter into force on 1 October 1995. This Decree is made under the General Children Benefit/Allowance Act and the Study Financing Act in Stb.220, 1995-04-26.
