Abstract/Citation: Employers shall ensure, as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all employees; employees shall take reasonable care of their health and safety as well (s. 4). Employers shall make an assessment of the risks to health and safety of employees, and employee representatives shall be consulted in matters relating to the introduction of new technologies or measures in the workplace, and to safety training and planning measures (s. 5). Employers shall also provide health surveillance when appropriate (s. 9). Breach of a duty imposed by these Regulations shall not confer a right of action in any civil proceedings (s. 23). Made under the Factories Ordinance. Implements Council Directives 89/391/EEC and 91/383/EEC.
