Abstract/Citation: Gives effect to Merchant Shipping (Minimum Standards) Convention 1976 (ILO Convention No. 147). Requires employers or masters of ships of 500 GRT or over to ensure that seafarers do not engage in watchkeeping duties except in emergency situations. In such cases, masters or employers shall ensure that seafarers performing such duties are adequately rested.
