Abstract/Citation: Amends the Waterfront Industry Act 1976 by, inter alia, abolishing the Waterfront Industry Tribunal and replacing references to it by references to the Labour Court (see the Labour Relations Act [LS 1987 - NZ 1]). Amendments deal principally with maintenance of a register of workers at each port and the grounds for cancelling an employer's registration. Repeals ss. 5, 14 to 33 (functions of the Tribunal), 36 (employer's obligations), 40A to 40R (preference by virtue of union membership clause), 41 to 45, 47 and 50 to 52 of the 1976 Act, as well as the Waterfront Industry Amendment Acts of 1977, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985.
