Abstract/Citation: Provides comprehensive regulations concerning safety aboard ships. Part III provides for the appointment of a Maritime Administrator for the purpose of enforcing the Ordinance. Part III sets out regulations on masters and seamen, including provisions on the language of the crew (s. 9), payment of wages, and discharge of seamen. Part IV provides safety regulations. The Maritime Administrator shall have the power to detain unsafe ships (s. 60). Repeals Merchant Shipping (Health and Safety) Ordinance 1988.
