Divided into 5 Parts and 24 Schedules. Part I establishes the Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), and regulates their functions, powers, and duties. Part II addresses contaminated land and abandoned mines. Part III relates to National Parks, Part IV to air quality, and Part V contains miscellaneous provisions relating to, inter alia, national waste strategy, fisheries, evidence collection in pollution offences, and mineral planning. Amends the Environmental Protection Act 1990. |
