Abstract/Citation: The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 prohibits the engagement of children in certain employment and regulates the conditions of work of children in certain other employment. These rules have been made by the State of Orissa under the said Act to carry into effect the objectives of the said Act. It provides for working hours to be followed for child labour, maintenance of registers of child labour, procedure for obtaining certificate of age, prohibition of child labour in dangerous operations and measures for protection of child labourers, and of their health and safety.
