Abstract/Citation: The Government of India has brought into force the Dangerous Machine (Regulations) Act, 1983 providing for the regulation of trade and commerce in and the production, supply, distribution and use of the product of any industry producing dangerous machines, with a view to securing the welfare of labour operating any such machines and for the payment of compensation for death or bodily harm suffered by any labourer while operating such a machine. The present rules have been framed for carrying out the provisions of the Act.
