Abstract/Citation: Divides vessels into different categories and sets out rules concerning minimum number of crew members for each category. Contains provisions on educational qualifications, rules concerning the certification of the time spent working at sea, and the rights related to that. A special committee, appointed by the Minister of Communications, can grant exemptions from these rules. Reapeals Act No. 81 of 1984 on Captains and Steermen on Iceandic Vessels.
