Abstract/Citation
The Wage Tribunal decides on the wages of the President of Iceland, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Supreme Court judges, district judges,the Bishop of Iceland, the State Auditor, the State Arbitrator, the State Prosecutor and the Ombudsman. The Tribunal shall in its decisions take into consideration the wages of other employees who hold equivalent positions as well as wage policy in general on the labour market. The Wage Council decides the wages of numerous civil servants holding high positions. The Council shall follow the same main principles in its decisions as the Wage Tribunal. The Tribunal and the Council shall reconsider their decisions every year and decide if there is a reason to alter them.
