Abstract/Citation
Divided into 11 Chapters and 223 sections concerning the King, rights and liberties of the Thai people, the government and the courts. Provides for equality of all persons under the law, and for religious freedom, provided that it is not contrary to civic duties and to public order or good morals. Freedom of expression is protected unless restrictions are necessary to maintain the security of the State, to safeguard liberties, dignity and reputation of other persons, to maintain public order or good morals, or to prevent the deterioration of mind or health of the people. Freedom of association is also guaranteed subject to provisions of the law. Forced labour is prohibited unless there is a public calamity, a state of armed conflict or war, or where a state of emergency or marital law is declared. No person shall exercise rights and liberties prescribed against the Nation, religions, the King and the Constitution.
