Abstract/Citation: A woman who has been pregnant for at least 154 days is entitled to a maternity allowance. A prerequisite for receiving maternity allowance is that the woman has undergone a medical examination before the end of the fourth month of pregnancy. Adoptive parents are also entitled to maternity allowance when adopting a child below the age of 1 year. Maternity allowance may be given in cash or in kind.
